I was sitting in traffic one day driving to Auckland city when this song just started to form in my head. I was tapping along on the steering wheel trying to remember all the lyrics I was singing. I finally had to pull over and record what I had so far on my phone. As it turned out, it's one of my favourites.
lyrics
WRAP YOUR ARMS AROUND ME
Long days ended, your spent
Just close your eyes and go to sleep
Tomorrow will come and we’ll begin again
This dance that never ends
You are the peace that covers me
When life explodes around me
You are the rain falling down
When the ground is dry and parched
You’re the light that guides me
In the darkness when I’m lonely
You wrap your arms around me
And hold me tight
I feel uneasy
You lean in and whisper in my ear...It’ll be ok
I start to tremble
You hold my hand and touch my face
And it begins to fade
You are the peace that covers me
When life explodes around me
You are the rain falling down
When the ground is dry and parched
You’re the light that guides me
In the darkness when I’m lonely
You wrap your arms around me
And hold me...
Tight enough for me to feel safe
Tight enough for me to feel like you’ll never let me go
And I know…I know…you’ll never let me go
You are the peace that covers me
When life explodes around me
You are the rain falling down
When the ground is dry and parched
You’re the light that guides me
In the darkness when I’m lonely
You wrap your arms around me
And hold me tight
